81st Guam Liberation Day Parade – Live Streaming and Broadcast

In partnership with the Government of Guam, the Mayors’ Council of Guam, and the Guam Visitors Bureau, PBS Guam presents a four-hour live broadcast honoring the patriotism, resilience, and unity of the CHamoru people. The Liberation Day Parade brings together island residents, civic leaders, and all branches of the U.S. military in a powerful celebration of Guam’s enduring spirit and commitment to freedom.

This year’s theme, “Fanohge CHamoru,”—the opening line of Guam’s national anthem written by Dr. Ramon Manalisay Sablan in 1919—is a tribute to the strength and pride of the CHamoru people. The 2025 celebration also commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Organic Act of Guam, a landmark moment in the island’s political history that granted U.S. citizenship and laid the groundwork for self-governance.

Join us as we mark the 81st anniversary of Guam’s Liberation, standing together under a banner that calls us to rise—united, proud, and strong.

TIMELESS PATRIOTISM: GUAM AND WORLD WAR II focuses on how this American territory and its residents dealt with the horrific Japanese occupation of their island in WWII. There were many acts of heroism and resistance by the locals until liberation came for this American territory in 1944. Each year, unknown to most Americans on the U.S. mainland, Guamanians hold an incredible and inspirational annual liberation parade.
